Ural Vagon Zavod: 6 Employees Are Engineers of The Year

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 13, 2017. Six workers of Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant won in the 17th All-Russian Engineer of The Year 2016 Contest dedicated to the Russian Technical Society’s 150th anniversary, the company press service reports.

Alexander Ovechkin, designer from the plant’s Technological Institute, Yuri Samoilov, designer from the Mechanization and Automation Design Office, Sergey Shpirna, electronics engineer from the Senior Electronics Engineer’s Department, and Andrei Kostromitin, environmental protection engineer from Ural Vagon Zavod’s Environmental Protection Department, won in the first round of The Art of Engineering by The Young. Additionally, the Mechanization and Automation Design Office’s Deputy Senior Designer Anton Moskvichev and the Environmental Protection Department’s Deputy Director Irina Kleschevnikova won in the Engineer of The Year category.

‘The annual Engineer of The Year Contest is an important prize for the national engineering community that is supported by heads of federal constituencies and the Russian Government. The contest helps to distinguish the country’s best engineers, popularize engineering skills, propagate engineers’ achievements and experience, and attract the government-run institutions’ attention to the problems in the field,’ the company says.
