UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 18, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant’s Personnel Training Center will host the International Total Spelling Quiz 2016 for the first time on April 16 to give the company workers a chance to test their spelling and punctuation skills.

According to the corporation’s press service, Ural Vagon Zavod is currently Russia’s second business (Sberbank being the first) to provide its workers with a special site to host the world wide literacy flash mob.

The company youth organization and trade union are contributing to the coordination of the event, and over a hundred employees have already signed up for the quiz at totaldict.ru. In fact, the signing-up deadline extends till the very beginning of the event.

The passages that the plant workers are expected to write down will be read to them by Nizhniy Tagil Drama Theater’s Art Director and Russia’s Honored Artist Igor Bulygin and two professors of philology from Nizhniy Tagil State Social Pedagogical College.

This free-to-participate Russian language testing event has been held in Nizhniy Tagil for the third year in a row. This year’s text was co-created by the children’s books writer, poet, and playwright Andrei Usachev and poet Alexei Dmitriyev.
