947,000 m2 of new housing commissioned in Yekaterinburg

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 25, 2015. 947,000 m2 of new housing got commissioned in Yekaterinburg this year, including 134,000 m2 worth of private houses, 19,000 m2 worth of low-rise apartment buildings, and 794,000 m2 worth of regular apartment buildings.

Deputy Mayor for Capital Construction & Land Use Sergei Myamin said in his interview to Open Studio. Yekaterinburg (Channel 41) that over 2.5m m2 worth of new housing had been put up in Yekaterinburg yearly for the last two years, which was in sharp contrast to the low figures recorded in the earlier years.

Yekaterinburg manages because so many good and right projects started well in advance. This is the first time in a while that over 2.5m m2 worth of housing get put up annually for two years in a row, and this means that even under recession, we still provide the city with at least 1m m2 of new homes every year, Myamin said.

Myamin also said first modern apartment buildings were introduced to the citys newest districts this year.

A 28,000-m2 block of modern apartment buildings was put up in Solnechny, for example, he said.

Another 16,000 m2 worth of private houses and low-rise apartment buildings and 214,000 m2 more of apartment buildings are expected to get commissioned before the end of the year, estate experts say.
