Dmitri Rogozin’s Tanks. Spirit of the Urals wins Rossiya Film Festival Award

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 7, 2015. Tanks. Spirit of the Urals, a film by Russian Vice Premier Dmitri Rogozin, won the 26th Rossiya Film Festival Award in Yekaterinburg. The film was given a special Patriotism Promotion Prize and Nizhniy Tagil Council Culture Department’s prize as the Best Patriotic Motion Picture, Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s press service reports.

The awards were received by the film director and producer Sergei Savushkin and the corporation’s State Secretary and Deputy DG Alexei Zharich.

361 applications from 49 settlements and 14 cities in Russia, Belarus, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan were placed for the festival all in all. The overall viewing time reached 13,789 minutes. In the end, 39 movies, including Tanks. Spirit of the Urals, were selected to compete for the awards.

The film premiered on Russia-1; most of the shooting was completed in February 2014, with Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s former and current employees and managers from the head plant and Ural Transport Machine-Building Design Office as well as students from the corporation’s partner colleges and schools in Nizhniy Tagil.

The film is dedicated to the emergence of the special Spirit of the Urals which helped Ural Vagon Zavod preserve and improve the country’s tank-making industry. Zharich pointed out that the corporation was happy to contribute to the project.
