Dmitri Medvedev sees Uralvagonzavod’s composite tank

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 17, 2015. Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev paid a visit to Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s stand at the International Import Replacement Exhibition where the company’s civil produce was displayed.

According to the corporation’s press service, the Director-General Oleg Sienko presented the Prime Minister the company’s innovative product, KtsKh PKM 25/0.4, a tank car with body made of composite materials.

Sienko spoke about the advantages of the product designed and manufactured specifically under the company’s import replacement program. In addition to the tank car, the corporation’s member enterprises are also working on three more innovative developments: a low-floor tram (Uraltransmash), cisterns and tanks for liquefied natural gas (Uralcryomash), and a refrigerator container for perishable goods (Uralvagonzavod).

‘Uralvagonzavod’s tank car offers an effective solution to Russia’s shortage of special-purpose tank containers; this product can both replace railway tank cars and be used for multi-modal shipments. Once you’ve got your chemical cargo loaded into the tank, you can have it transferred without any extra reloading operations or leakage/damage risks to any point on the map by railway, car, or water,’ the press service says.
