Uralvagonzavod stadium hosts kids’ amateur Olympics

23.06.2015
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 23, 2015. The annual amateur Olympics took place at Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s stadium in Nizhniy Tagil. Children from 28 corporation-supported kindergartens competed in the games.

The company press service reports 208 children aged between six and seven could become actual sports players for one day and compete for cups and medals. Kindergarten personnel took part in the competition for the first time this year, too.

‘The games have grown into a good tradition: Uralvagonzavod has been hosting the event for three years now. The opening address was given by the head plant’s Executive Director and Sverdlovsk Region Legislative Assembly deputy Vladimir Roschupkin. He pointed out that every participant was already a winner, since all the children were representing their local kindergartens at a district level. The director of Childhood Kindergarten Nadezhda Shadrina thanked the plant for the support and organization of the event,’ the press service says.

The young sports players competed in the 4x50 m relay race, sandbag throwing, and long jumps. Their caregivers competed in the 60-meter race and putting-stone throwing.
