Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s member enterprises are ready for winter

November 6, 2014. Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s head plant reports all the departments prepared for winter-time operation and met all the requirements necessary to obtain their Ready for Fall/Winter 2014/2015 Certificates, the corporation’s press service reports.

Between early September and late October, an ad hoc committee inspected over sixty of the head plant’s divisions. The company heat and power station has more than plenty of primary (natural gas) and back-up (furnace oil) fuel, which stock is expected to ensure heating energy for both the production premises and the living quarters in Dzerzhinsky District of Nizhniy Tagil: supplying heat to this part of the city is one of the power station’s key tasks.

The company’s energy equipment was given all the expected overhauls: a steam boiler was replaced, the heating equipment and the pipelines were newly insulated, and the electric engines and valves on the high-pressure pipes were replaced. The overall performance of the heating mains grew more efficient.

The head plant’s premises and facilities have been prepared for the winter: more than 45,000 sq m worth of roofing and 12,500 sq m of window glazing were repaired. 384 sq m of wooden frames were replaced in mechanical assembly, thermal, stamping, and heating departments.

Emergency drills are carried out in accordance with the existing schedule. The drills focus on prevention of emergencies in low-temperature seasons. If an emergency does occur, Uralvagonzavod is capable of doing all the recovery work even in temperatures below zero.
