September 29, 2014. Ural Electrochemical Plant (a member enterprise of Rosatom’s Fuel Company TVEL, Novouralsk) is going to invest more than 7bn RUR in equipment upgrades in 2014, the plant’s press service refers to the company Director-General Alexander Belousov as saying.

According to the DG, the company is starting to modernize one of its gas centrifuge units at one of its technological departments today; the plant also keeps working on the replacement of ancillary equipment. The company operates stably and can definitely meet its production targets. For one, the plant’s sales revenues amounted to some 9bn RUR in the first eight months of the year, with another 9bn RUR expected before the end of the year.

‘The enterprise has been developing quite fast. Based on its performance, Ural Electrochemical Plant was declared the enterprise with the highest labor productivity in the sector last year,’ Belousov stressed at a press conference.

As it happens, Ural Electrochemical Plant is responsible for up to 80% of international contracts Russia signed in the nuclear industry sector. As the plant runs 50% of Russia’s uranium enrichment facilities, it can fulfill virtually any order very quickly.

Novouralsk industrial site, in its turn, is prepared to make its contribution to the import replacement program, Belousov says.
