ChTPZ Group completes specific order for Byelorussia

28.01.2014
January 28, 2014. ChTPZ Group delivered a set of arc-welded pipes to the Byelorussian oil company Naftan. The pipes have the diameter of 530mm to 820mm and wall width of 10mm to 14mm; they are made from carbonated steel and will be used to reconstruct the primary crude oil processing unit, the pipe-rolling enterprise’s press service reports.

‘This order is specific in that we have to meet the customer’s particularly strict property requirements: the metal strength and the quality of the seam were tested at the temperature of 25 degrees centigrade below zero (the GOST standard requires that the temperature can be 20 degrees below). To meet the customer’s specifications, ChTPZ (Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant) implemented a set of organizational and technical measures. As a result, the goods were approved of by the customer,’ the company’s press release states.

ChTPZ Group has been cooperating with Naftan for a decade now, but this is actually the first time such a non-standard order has been placed. In addition to Russian suppliers, German manufacturers also competed in the tender. The Ural plant’s offer was more appealing in terms of both prices and delivery terms. The total volume of the Byelorussian shipment came to more than 500,000 kg, the message says.
