Illegal ads are taken off several historic buildings in Yekaterinburg

Tenants and owners of several scores of buildings and other facilities on Yekaterinbnurg's cultural heritage list dismantled a number of outdoor advertising media from these buildings after they had been ordered to do so by the authorities, Sverdlovsk Region Public Property Management Ministry's press service reports.

For one, most of illegitimately installed billboards and banners were taken off an architectural set dating back to the fifties in Sverdlov St (Buildings 22, 34, 56, 58, and 62).

The apartment blocks at 21/2 Malyshev St, G.V. Uvarov Tenement Building at 4 Pushkin St, Petty Bourgeoise D. Ya. Simanova House, and The Merchants Yakovlev House at 12 Vosmoye Marta St and 18 Vosmoye Marta St, respectively, as well as Merchant V.N. Ivanov House at 26 Vosmoye Marta St were also placed on the cultural heritage list that should not be used as outdoor advertising sites.

Under the current legislation, violation of the rules relating to preservation, operation, and government protection of culturally important facilities (historic buildings and monuments) results in an administrative fine (15,000 RUR to 200,000 RUR for private individuals and 200,000 RUR to 5m RUR for legal entities).
