Uralvagonzavod to hire up to 14,000 people in Nizhniy Tagil by 2020

Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation is going to take on between 5,000 and 14,000 people by 2020 for its Nizhniy Tagil-based facilities alone, Uralvagonzavod Managing Director Vladimir Roshchupkin said at the Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanskikh’s meeting with the representatives of metallurgical and machine-building enterprises today, the corporation’s press service reports.

Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanskikh chaired a meeting today that was also attended by Governors of Sverdlovsk, Kurgan, and Chelyabinsk Regions and heads of the major enterprises such as Ural Mining & Metallurgical Companies, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works, Uralmashzavod, and others. Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation was represented by Managing Director Vladimir Roshchupkin, the corporation’s press service reports.

There were two points on the agenda: the current state of affairs and the developmental prospects of Ural Federal District’s metallurgical and machine-building sectors and the measures taken to secure the labor rights of the workers employed within these key industrial segments.

Vladimir Roshchupkin’s report was dedicated to the problem of staff scarcity. He pointed out that the entire sector was faced with the lack of skilled workers, and Uralvagonzavod Corporation was no exception.
