Ural Debtors’ Paying Behavior Deteriorates

14.03.2013
March 14, 2013. Russian citizens’ repayment history got considerably worse in 2012. As of January 1, 2013, the credit health index dropped by ten points down to the lowest point since October 2010: 109 points. This is 2 points lower than on October 1, 2012, and 6 points lower than on January1, 2012. Credit health kept deteriorating in October 2008-July/October 2009, but it later went on recovering until January 2012. In April 2012, a slight decrease was seen for the first time since October 2009, and this trend has continued up to now, NBKI and FICO’s joint research states.

Starting from January 2012, the index has been going down gradually in all parts of Russia. Central Federal District was the only exception to the rule, as the index remained the same there as in the previous quarter.

Last year, the credit health index plummeted the lowest in Far Eastern Federal District (by 13 points, that is). This was followed by North-Caucasian and Siberian Federal Districts (a 10-point drop in each) and Ural Federal District (an 8-point drop).
