Court dismisses Wimm Bill Dann vs. Danone
6 September 2010 (09:12)
Moscow Federal Arbitration Court supported the rulings pronounced in courts of lower instances and thus stated that the Federal Antimonopoly Service’s decision to stop the case involving Danone Industry had been both legal and well-grounded. The news was reported by the Federal Antimonopoly Service’s press officer.
Danone’s advertisements promoting Actimel (a milk-based drink) as well as the company’s website, featured images of underage children and their parents who used the product on a daily basis. Now OAO Wimm Bill Dann felt that Actimel advertisements created an impression that these foods were designed as part of children’s daily ration, even though this was not the case.
Nevertheless, the Federal Antimonopoly Service’s committee did not find any inaccuracies in the ads.
