Koltsovo Airport’s building closed for 30 days
11 February 2010 (10:42)
The building of Yekaterinburg-based Koltsovo Airport’s mail division has been closed down for thirty days because of fire safety violations, reports the spokesperson for Sverdlovsk Region’s Administration of the Federal Court Officers Service.
On February 8, 2010, the court officer of Oktyabrskiy district’s division started the enforcement proceedings on the basis of Yekaterinburg’s Oktyabrskiy district court’s ruling; the court declared that the airport was to stop using the building.
So Russian Post Federal State Unitary Enterprise is not operating on the airport’s premises at the moment.
The inspection carried out by the Ministry of Emergencies revealed twenty-seven serious fire safety violations within the mail division office. The main offenses consist in protective bars on the windows, impossibility for the firefighters to enter the building through any window of the building, and storing inflammable materials next to emergency exits.
Because the airport’s mail division has a socially important function, the enforcement proceedings are monitored by Sverdlovsk Region’s Administration of the Federal Court Officers Service. The court officers of Oktyabrskiy district’s division will keep inspecting the airport’s premises on a regular basis. In case the airport fails to meet the court’s requirements, its executives will have to pay a fine in accordance with Article 17.15 of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code and might face criminal liability in accordance with Article 315 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code (failing to meet the ruling, the sentence, or some other decision made by the court).
