Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) won in the Best Exporter of 2008 contest organized by the Russian Federation Ministry for Industry and Trade in order to support the local exporters.
In the course of the contest, the country’s best industrial exporters were chosen in seventeen categories such as the Best Exporter to the CIS, the Most Dynamically Developing Exporter, and so on. The applications and the supporting documents were considered by the Ministry’s Foreign Economic Relations Department.
MMK won the contest as Russia’s Best Exporter to the CIS among the metallurgical enterprises.
‘Supplying our goods to the CIS members is one of our sales priorities. We are proud of the special relationship we have with our Byelorussian consumers, to whom we deliver directly. Last year, for instance, we sold them over 170,000 tons of metal goods. Another million tons of goods was supplied to the other countries of the CIS,’ MMK reports.
This isn’t the first time the enterprise has won an exporters contest. In fact, MMK got on the Russian Federation Ministry for Industry and Trade Russia’s best exporters list a number of times. It was also declared the Urals’ best exporter by Expert-Ural magazine. Besides, the company can boast a number of international quality prizes, like the Technology and Quality Prize awarded to the plant by Switzerland-based Editorial Office in 2001. This prize was created to single out the companies that strive for technological perfection.
