Ural Airlines listed by IOSA

7 April 2009 (10:31)

Ural Airlines was officially placed on the IOSA (operational safety audit) list on March 28, 2009.

The carrier hosted six international auditors in April 2008 and was declared to have successfully passed the audit procedure on April 25, 2008. As a result, the company acquired the status of an IOSA standards-complying airline in March 2009.

‘This means that the company has proved its ability to provide safety in terms of flight operation, management system, documentation, aircraft maintenance, and much else besides,’ the spokesperson for Ural Airlines said to an UrBC reporter.

An IOSA-listed carrier is entitled to a certificate that gets accepted by its international partners, travel agents, aviation equipment manufacturers, and insurance companies. An IOSA registration means that a company complies with the internationally recognized standards.

‘IOSA compliance stands for clear systematization and clever management of all the production processes, control over their efficiency, and the unity of the decision-making process. For our passengers, this stands for the company trying to ensure their safety both on the ground and in the air,’ the spokesperson says.
