Uralvagonzavod launches art exhibition

June 3, 2013. An art exhibition called ‘With Chisel and Brush’ was launched at Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation’s exhibition center. The company’s press service says that the exhibition is dedicated to the works of two members of Russia’s Union of Artists: a monumental sculptor Vitaly Stekanov and a painter and Russia’s Renowned Artist Petr Bortnov. Both of them graduated from Ural Applied Arts College and went to the front during the war; they were the founding fathers of Nizhniy Tagil school of artists. Oleg Sienko: Uncontrollable increase in railway fares brings industry to dead-end

Director-General of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation Oleg Sienko feels that the way Russian Railways will be developing is going to determine the success of many economic sectors. He voiced his opinion in Sochi, during the 8th International Railway Business Forum on Strategic Partnership 1520. The corporation’s press service reports that on the first day of the forum, Sienko took part in an expert round table discussion dedicated to the public’s benefits of privatization. Russia-EU Summit in Yekaterinburg to add color to parties’ trade ties

Ural Federal District’s foreign trade turnover dropped 5.9%

June 3, 2013. In January-April 2013, the foreign trade turnover of enterprises based in Ural Federal District came to $6.7bn, which is 5.9% less than a year earlier. The spokesperson for Ural Customs Administration reports that that the physical volume of traded goods amounted to 4.7m tons, which was10.5% less than in the first four months of 2012. Out of these goods, 84.9% were exported to or imported from the far abroad ($5.7bn) and 15.1% were imported from or exported to the CIS member states ($1bn).
