MMK Cuts Down on Energy Spending
Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) completed its energy-saving projects in MMK Group’s departments and companies for the first half of 2012. Every year, MMK implements a number of programs aimed at reducing the amount of energy resources spent: electric power, fuel, fire-fighting/drinking and manufacturing water, heating energy, and air products. In the first half of the year, all the programs were fulfilled by 100% and in accordance with the schedules, MMK reports. The energy-saving measures will result in over 4.5m kilowatt-hours or 14.5m RUR worth of savings by the end of the year.
