UTair’s Plane Fails to Take off in Tyumen

UTair Airlines ATR 42 had to stop the take-off due to technical problems at Roschino Airport, Interfax-Ural reports. Ural Investigative Department for Transportation of Russia’s Investigative Committee’s press service reported on Tuesday that the incident occurred at 6:25 AM (local time) the day before. The plane did not fly to Nizhnevartovsk because of an engine failure. ‘According to the preliminary data available, the reason for the incident was that the left engine did not switch into the takeoff mode,’ the message states.

International Airport Association Set up in Yekaterinburg

The International Airport Association (MAA) has been set up in Yekaterinburg. An agreement to this effect was signed during the aviation forum Routes CIS 2012 that was held in the Urals’ capital. The association was founded by the representatives of Yekaterinburg-based Koltsovo Airport, Moscow-based Vnukovo Airport, and Novosibirsk-based Tolmachevo Airport, Kommersant reports.
