First Freight Company Raises Fares by 3%

The consignors’ total expenses related to the shipment of goods via First Freight Company’s (PGK) open wagons rose by 3% on average, the company’s press service reports. ‘The decision to reconsider our fares was taken due to the need to compensate the current lagging behind of our prices as far as the average market prices are concerned. Prior to February 2012, the price of shipping goods via our open wagons was 20% to 25% lower than the average market price. After the indexation, our prices are 10% lower than the market’s average ones,’ the company’s press release states.

Open Door: MMM 2011’s Warnings Regarding Authorities’ Pressure Don’t Come True

MMM 2011 warned its partner advertising agencies that the authorities might try to exert some pressure on them, UrBC was informed by the agency Open Doors that placed some ads for the pyramid scheme on the front walls of ComsoMALL Shopping Center in Yekaterinburg. Ural Electrochemical Works DG Alexander Kurkin Resigns

The Director-General of Ural Electrochemical Works Alexander Kurkin resigned in order to get transferred to the scientific sector of the O&G company TVEL. The works’ Board of Directors decided that former Director-General of Angarsk-based AEKhK Alexander Belousov should be appointed the new DG of Ural Electrochemical Works. Sverdlovsk Region’s Minister for Industry & Science Alexander Petrov pointed out that the candidacy of the new executive was agreed upon by the region’s government.

Second Freight Company Accused of Limiting Companies’ Access to Wagons

Sverdlovsk Region Legislative Assembly’s Infrastructure Development & Housing Policies Committee met to discuss the alleged violation of the principle of guaranteed, non-discriminatory access of manufacturers to wagons belonging to Second Freight Company. Koltsovo Airport Reconstruction to Start in May 2012

The reconstruction of the airfield at Yekaterinburg-based Koltsovo International Airport is expected to start in May 2012 and to be over in 2014. Over 3bn RUR has been allocated from the federal budget to complete the project. Among the jobs that need to be done are the restoration of the drainage facilities, expansion of the airfield apron, building more parking lots, construction of spots where aircraft can be treated with the anti-icing fluid and getting them fitted with all the necessary equipment, and building a patrol road along the inside perimeter of the airfield.
