16 July 2008 (10:25)

Chelyabinsk-based SOT, a company dealing in production of pipeline bends and part of Rimera (ChTPZ Group’s O&G maintenance division) has been successfully audited by QS Azia Sertik (based in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan) and proved the compliance of its quality management system with the ST RK ISO 9001-2001 standards.

The above-mentioned standard has been adopted by the Republic of Kazakhstan as the official state standard and is based on the international ISO 9001:2000 one.

The examination and assessment of its certified quality management system is necessary for SOT to be able to deliver its produce to Kazakhstan. The company’s goods are popular with both Russian and Kazakh customers, so the enterprise was the supplier of component parts for such large-scale infrastructure development projects as Atasu-Alashankou and Kenkiyak-Kumkol oil trunk pipelines. The enterprise also supplied parts for the reconstruction of Uzen-Atyrau-Samara gas pipeline and for gas pipelines such as SATZ-4 and Shagyrly-Shomyshty and Kazgermunai-Nuraly.

The audit procedure included examination of the company’s major departments (the R&D Department, the Quality Control Department, the pipe spool shop, and the anticorrosion coating shop).

The auditing proved SOT produce’s great quality, the spokesperson for Rimera says.
