The participants of the project known as the School of Managing Director supported by Nizhniy Tagil Iron & Steel Works (part of Evraz Group) have recently come back from a professional training workshop in Germany. Looking into the organization of production processes at German enterprises was the final stage of the company’s young managers’ training.
The company’s middle level managers first went through internship under Nizhniy Tagil Iron & Steel Works’ leading experts and experts from a number of other Russian enterprises. Their training abroad was focused on prospects and challenges of Germany and other EU members’ metallurgical industry as well as on steel-smelting and rolling management technologies, organization of labor, environmental security, and technical innovations. The trainees visited some German metallurgical and mining enterprises as well as their maintenance companies and the metallurgical institute of Klausthal’s Technical University. In addition, they met a number of Thyssen Krupp representatives. This German company is Nizhniy Tagil Iron & Steel Works’ partner in the field of production upgrading. Besides, the project participants met experts from Sachsen-Anhalt’s federal geological and mining agency and from Martin Luther University’s geological institute.
At the end of the training workshop, a round table discussion with workers of metallurgical enterprises was organized for the trainees.
Upon their return home, managers have to draw up detailed reports on their internship, noting the ways in which they have benefited from the trip, commenting on the differences and innovations they have noticed and coming up with proposals on how to use the experience they’ve obtained in their daily work.
