Russian Transport 2008, the international forum, was held in Sochi on May 22-24, 2008. Ural Airlines’ General Director Sergey Skuratov took part in the event.
The forum was dedicated to the country’s transport’s development directions, new transport projects, and analysis of current problems, the airline’s press officer reports.
Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Evgeniy Bachurin said in the course of the forum that their branch was developing rather rapidly at the moment, despite certain problems and the need to introduce more domestic flights and upgrade the aircraft.
The forum participants also talked about the safety and security issues, the state involvement in the civil aviation, and ways of developing shorter haul flights. In addition, reports were made by Deputy Transport Minister Boris Korol, Director of State Policies in Civil Aviation Department Vladimir Tasun, Deputy Head of the Federal Transport Surveillance Service Vladimir Chertok, and other experts.
‘The attendees were put into the picture of Russian transport branch’s strategic development goals for 2008-2030, as well as were shown the ways of achieving these goals. Such forums provide an opportunity for the transport market players and the state authorities to meet and negotiate to make sure the whole branch evolves quicker, making Russia into a globally important economic power,’ says Transport Minister Igor Levitin.
