Cars derailed at Sverdlovsk Region railways again

Another instance of cars getting derailed occurred at Sverdlovsk Region railways at 5 PM on August 8, 2007.

‘Three cars that were being transported to a depot in order to be repaired were derailed due to a technical faultiness of one of them. No people suffered; the incident poses no threat to the environment, either,’ Sverdlovsk Region Railways’ press officer Andrei Ivanov said to UrBC.

As recently as a month ago (on July 11, 2007), a passenger train 354 going from Perm to Priobie was derailed. The accident occurred at the 491st kilometer of Sverdlovsk Region Railways. Nine cars were derailed altogether; five of them actually toppled over. No people were killed, but three to seven passengers were wounded. On May 9, 2007, two empty cars were derailed next to Avtomagistralnaya St. in Yekaterinburg, and four empty bays were derailed in Verkhnyaya Salda on May 22, 2007.
