SUAL Group produces 5.78m tons of bauxites in 2006

SUAL Group produced 5.78m tons of bauxites in 2006, which exceeds the figures for 2005 by 6.9%, reports the spokesperson for SUAL Holding.
The Group’s alumina production came to 2.31m tons, which is .9% better than a year earlier; the primary aluminum output rose by 1.4% compared to 2005 and amounted to over 1.06m tons.
The silicon production went down 6.1% against a year earlier due to more Chinese silicon delivered at dumping prices after the Russian Federation Government canceled the restraining import fee; in addition, the company had to stop producing silicon in their Ukraine-based plant after the electricity fares soared in the country.
The Group’s rolling and semi manufactures output exceeded the figures for 2005 by 21.3%, the foil and aluminum tape output exceeded the figures for 2005 by 3.9%.
