The representatives of Metallurgcial Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil (part of Evraz Group), of the town council and of the regional healthcare bodies took part in the preliminary examination of the division of Eye Microsurgery, one of Russia’s best eye clinics, in Nizhniy Tagil. The construction began in January 2006 and was fully financed by Evraz Group. This was part of the project referred to as Tagil Is Our Home developed by Evraz to support the regions where its enterprises operate.

The Tagil division of Eye Microsurgery is located right in the centre of the town (Lenin Ave.) This is a separate building with specially designed hermetic rooms, floors covered with antistatic materials, and a powerful electricity supply system fit for the energy-consuming medical equipment. The capacity of the clinic comes to 50 to 60 people a day; it includes a few therapeutic rooms, a diagnostic center, and a children’s department. All the residents of Tagil who need to have their eyes treated or operated don’t have to travel to the regional center any longer: all the necessary procedures are available on the premises of the local clinic.

The examination committee was satisfied with the builders’ performance. The first pieces of equipment will start at the end of this month, and the clinic will have already serviced its first patients by New Year’s Eve, says the spokesperson for Metallurgcial Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil.
