9 October 2006 (10:00)

The drying facility of Mundybashskiy subsidiary of Evrazruda (ore maker and part of Evraz Group) has recently been repaired in order to make sure everything is going to function smoothly in winter. This included repairing the concentrate sorting belts and parts of the drying drums and checkups of electric drives, reductors, smoke suckers, and gas-cleaning systems of fireboxes. Everything was completed by the company’s employees.

This week, the technicians have looked at the was the drums operate in a non-load mode and tested the alignment of the smoke sucker drives. The drying facility is expected to resume operation on October 15; it is meant for reducing the moisture content in the ore concentrate from 10% to 2.5%, which allows the company to stick to its production levels and supply the goods stably. Additional benefit consists in the concentrate remaining non-frozen, which makes it possible for the metallurgists to cut down on energy spending when keeping the wagons warm as well as provides for better maintenance of the discharging equipment.

This drying facility gives Evrazruda the opportunity to produces and ship about 140,000 tons of secondary concentrate monthly, reports the spokesperson for Evrazruda.
