Chelyabinsk Region energy supplier ChelyabEnergo JSC decided to set up the Technological Connection Administration.

According to the company’s spokesperson, increasingly more natural persons and legal entities need to be connected to the regional electrical networks, as the region is developing economically, more buildings are being put up, and large industrial enterprises feel the need for connection as well. The company received 3,678 applications in 2005 and 3,115 applications in the first half of 2006.

The connection process used to be a rather complicated and procrastinated one, but the new rules allow the consumers to have a much simpler and more transparent connection procedure at a better price. Now they only have to place the application with the local network organizations that will deal with all the paperwork.

In order for the network organization to be able to meet all the demands and avoid hindering the business and construction projects, there needs to be a developed network infrastructure. The connection fee is now the primary source of network development investments that could facilitate satisfying the consumers’ needs.
