3 August 2006 (14:00)
Vysokogorsky Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise JSC (part of Evraz Group) has recently completed waste certification. To date, the company’s environmentalists have taken out 38 certificates, each mentioning the source, the chemical composition, the level of environmental hazard, and the owner’s address of the certified kind of waste products.
The certification is targeted at speeding up the utilization and disposal of waste with the help of special organizations and reducing the company’s environmental fees.
At the moment, every Evraz enterprise is certifying its waste products in order to comply with the requirements of federal environmental services. Vysokogorsky has met a very tight certification schedule. This will help the enterprise to reduce its detrimental waste products and define the ways of their future processing or recycling. The company is partly exempted from the emission and waste fees since its waste products are used as a reclaiming material at the Main Pit. The company annually supplies over 1.5m tons of wet magnetic separation slime to the Main Pit bowl.
