Last week, the general contractor of Troitsk State District Power Plant began repairing the feeding unit № 7. The procedure includes overhaul of the turbine pertaining to the generating unit № 7, repairing the boiler and the smoke suckers as well as the other parts of the main and supplementary equipment.

The specialists of the South Ural Assembling Administration are to renovate the 7B boiler using the VIR-technologies for the first time. The technology was designed by Polittechenergo of Saint Petersburg and consists in the rotational low-emission burning of coal in the boiler furnace, which should provide for fewer nitrogen NOx and flue cinder emissions; all this should increase the boiler coefficient of efficiency.

The repairs should have been finished by June 21, 2006; the project is estimated to cost about 20m RUR, the company’s spokesperson said to UrBC representative.
