Sverdlovsk Region Court vacates sentence upon KOR Company management
17 March 2006 (12:50)
‘Sverdlovsk Region Court vacated the sentence upon Sergey Pavlov and Alexei Yermolenko who run KOR Company. The two had been convicted by Kirovskiy Court of Yekaterinburg following the charge based on Clause 111 of Russian Criminal Code with assault and battery of Alexander Kostyukov, an entrepreneur, that resulted in his death. Mr Pavlov was then sentenced to 12 years in prison, Mr Yermolenko to 8 years,’ reported the spokesperson for Sverdlovsk Region Court Galina Subbotina.
‘The case has been returned to Kirovskiy Court of Yekaterinburg to be reconsidered by a new constitution of the court because of the serious controversies and incongruence that kept popping up during the preliminary investigation and the trial alike,’ Ms Subbotina said. She says both men are now kept in detention.
