Representatives of Russian Railway Transport Research Institute, of various Russian carriage makers and of carriage services operating on Siberian and Far Eastern railroads were among the participants.
The meeting concerned the launch of the new 18-578 trolley that had been designed in Ural Carriage Engineering Design Office and produced by Uralvagonzavod. 14,000 12-132-03 gondolas with this trolley type had been produced throughout 2004 and 2005.
According to N. Bochkarev, Director of Carriage Department of Russian Railways Public Company, it was decided that the trolley would bear the letter A, which will allow carriage makers to make it generally marketed. This will also allow to replace the old 18-100 trolley type.
