UrBC, Moscow, April 13, 2020. The telecom company MegaFon expanded its content delivery network by launching its own solution Multi-CDN; this sped up the start of the video playing and reduced the time lags in TV broadcasts for viewers in remote parts of the country.
According to the company’s press service, their online video and the digital television service MegaFon TV traffic rose by 30% in the last few weeks.
‘In addition to its existing content delivery options represented by seventeen data centers, MegaFon is also beginning to use its own caching platform Multi-CDN (total traffic capacity: 400 Gb/sec). This means our users will be able to receive video content from servers based in the immediate vicinity of their location within the country,’ the company says.
