6 April 2020 (09:33)
UrBC, Magnitogorsk, April 6, 2020. MMK Group’s member enterprises and all the divisions at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) appointed the people in charge of enforcing the Open Door Principle on sites.
According to the company’s press service, the novel coronavirus is most frequently transmitted through direct contact, which, along with airborne transmission, presents a serious threat to public health.
‘MMK Group’s Open Door Principle helps prevent the spread of the virus and minimize direct-contact transmission. The principle will get enforced at all the entry checkpoints, pedestrian walk and tunnel entrances, building entrances, canteen entrances, and other high-human-traffic spaces. This will help avoid human hands coming into direct contact with door handles and other surfaces that might be contaminated with the virus,’ the company says.
The Open Door Principle means all doors must remain open at peak hours of 6-11 AM and 6-11 PM, with the exception of areas where opening doors leads to automatic fire fighting appliances switching off.
