UrBC, Magnitogorsk, April 2, 2020. MMK Group’s MMK-METIZ set up a special-purpose unit to help prevent the spread of coronavirus; the unit gets chaired by Director Alexander Mukhin. Ad hoc work teams, coordinated by department heads, have also been set up in every division, and people have been assigned who will collect and present all the relevant data on COVID-19 and enforce the measures to prevent it.

‘All our drivers as well as employees arriving from outside of Magnitogorsk have to undergo medical examination to check if they have any symptoms prior to entering the site. Our workers get the latest updates on the local health situation and recently reintroduced personal hygiene regulations through messengers and the IT system’s Network Folder during every shift,’ the plant’s Information & PR Department says.

There’s a supply of soap, hand sanitizer, wipes, and so on at canteens, sanitary facilities, and amenities. A ban has been imposed on takeaway deliveries (pizza, sushi, and so on); handshakes, hugs, and kisses on the cheek are also canceled. Meetings now take place online.

Some of the workers are also working from home at the moment.
