RosSet’s FGC UES Replaces Insulators at Chelyabinsk Region’s Power Stations

25 March 2020 (09:11)

UrBC, Chelyabinsk, March 25, 2020. New insulators are being installed at RosSet’s Federal Grid Company United Energy Systems’ seven power substations in Chelyabinsk Region, FGC UES’s Ural division’s PR & media group reports.

The insulators are being replaced at RosSet’s Federal Grid Company United Energy Systems’ transmission substations in Chelyabinsk Region, including the 500-kV Kozyrevo Substation, Kropachevo Substation, and Magnitogorskaya Substation. 612 new cylindrical post insulators will get installed within all the switching equipment.

The replacements at the 500-kV Shagol Substation have by now been completed; 96 insulators have been installed at two feeder disconnectors at the 500-kV Shagol-Chelyabinskaya Main. The line is now fitted with new, highly durable, Russian-made insulators that are resistant to drastic temperature fluctuations.

All the replacements are meant to make maintenance of high-voltage appliances safer and to minimize tech problems resulting in power outages.

Cylindrical post insulators help fix and insulate current-conducting components of power-generating equipment.
