UrBC, Chelyabinsk, January 28, 2020. The amount of gondola car-packed cargo handled by First Freight Company at South Ural Railways rose by 62% in 2019 against one year earlier and reached 1,200,000,000 kg, the company’s press service reports.

‘The increase in our cargo turnover mostly had to do with macadam shipments. These came from First Freight Company’s Chelyabinsk branch’s key partners: Cartel Promsnab, Energo-Alyans, and OM-TEK. We also resumed working with SeverSnabKomplekt’s macadam quarry and worked more closely with ChZMK and the refractory goods manufacturer Magnezit. Quality planning of the entire freight-forwarding process resulted in high-precision, on-time delivery of railcars needed for the shipments,’ says Director at First Freight Company’s Chelyabinsk branch Gleb Gorbunov.

First Freight Company’s Chelyabinsk branch also handed 2.5 times more shipments of building materials last year (632,000,000 kg altogether). The amount of flux materials shipments rose by 34% (up to 246,000,000 kg), that of industrial raw stuffs and molding materials rose two-fold (up to 42,000,000 kg), and that of ferrous metals rose by 76% (up to 42,700,000 kg). The shipments were primarily destined for customers in Western Siberia, the Urals, Volga Federal District, and central parts of Russia.
