MMK Chair of the BOD Viktor Rashnikov, Chelyabinsk Region Government Discuss National Projects

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, December 10, 2019. Chair of the BOD at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Viktor Rashnikov and Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler held a work meeting to talk about a series of projects on Magnitogorsk’s socioeconomic development and about MMK contributing to National Projects, MMK’s Information & PR Department reports.

Governor Teksler said Chelyabinsk Region Government and Magnitogorsk Council worked in close cooperation with the plant.

‘Under your management, MMK has been making a positive impact on the development of Chelyabinsk Region in general and Magnitogorsk in particular. Most importantly, MMK focuses closely on dealing with environmental issues. I must say I view MMK as a reliable, trustworthy partner for National Projects, that is, not only for Environment, but also for Healthcare and Demographics. The President acknowledged your personal contribution with the Order of Alexander Nevsky this year. I hope we’ll keep on collaborating. The fact that you have chaired the Union of Industrialists & Entrepreneurs’ local division for over two decades now is also an acknowledgement of the system’s trust and respect. We see working on joint projects together and cooperating closely as vital, and thank you once again for your contribution to the area’s development,’ Teksler said.

Alexei Teksler and Viktor Rashnikov also discussed MMK’s environmental programs that will reduce the company’s air emissions by at least 20% by 2024, and Prityazheniye Park, proposed by Rashnikov. The project provides for the creation of a large park with a cluster of medical, sports, culture, and educational facilities and museums. Chelyabinsk Region Government supports the project and intends to build a large polyclinic in Prityazheniye Park together with MMK.
