First Freight Company’s Chelyabinsk Branch: Hopper Car Shipments Up 27%

UrBC, Chelyabinsk, November 25, 2019. First Freight Company’s Chelyabinsk branch handled 27% more hopper railcar shipments in the ten months of 2019 than in the ten months of 2018 (526,000,000 kg all in all), First Freight Company’s press service reports.
‘The branch’s employees work closely with our parters, including EuroCement Group, South Ural Mining & Processing Company, Dyckerhoff Korkino Cement, and Vishnevogorsky Ore Mining & Processing Enterprise. Besides, this year we resumed our partnership with MMK Group’s LLC MCRW and found new customers such as Volgograd Ceramics Plant (VKZ),’ says Director at First Freight Company’s Chelyabinsk branch Gleb Gorbunov.
In terms of cargo type, the hopper railcar shipments of cement increased the most (+53%, up to 337,000,000 kg). The shipments of industrial commodities and molding materials went up by 5 times (up to 68,000,000 kg), while those of refractory goods rose by 21% (up to 21,000,000 kg).
Most of the shipments (98%) got forwarded within Russia; the overall amount of domestically bound cargo rose by 33% in the ten months of 2019 compared with one year earlier (up to 517,000,000 kg). The shipments mainly went to Moscow Region, central parts of Russia, the Urals, and North-Western Federal District.
9,100,000 kg of cargo got exported to either Belarus or Kazakhstan.
