EVRAZ Launches Smart Lock System
22 November 2019 (09:08)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 22, 2019. EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Coal Company is introducing a smart lock system for emergency shutdown of mining combines, the company’s press service reports.
EVRAZ Holding has been working on the project to fit all the stoping combines with the lock system since 2018. The electronic appliances get connected to the positioning and alarm systems that have been used at the holding’s coal-mining enterprises for over a decade now.
‘No extra equipment needs to get taken down to the mine: the miners only need to have a compact RFID tag installed in their cap lamp. If a worker enters a dangerous spot, the tag will send a signal to the device installed on the combine vehicle, so the equipment will shut down,’ the press service says.
