UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 21, 2019. A police station opened in Yekaterinburg’s District Akademicheskiy on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, the town council’s website states.

‘We’re opening a small but very important unit today. District Akademicheskiy is both the fastest-growing and the safest part of Yekaterinburg. I wish our coworkers in the law- and order-enforcement sector every success in their hard work,’ said Mayor of Yekaterinburg Alexander Vysokinsky.

The new station at 21/2 Akademik Vonsovsky St houses local district police chiefs and officers, youth liaison officers, traffic police units and patrol/duty services.

The place is fitted with all the necessary equipment and is prepared, as the police say, to deal with locals’ complaints and problems and to react to their inquires in a timely manner.

There are 95 police stations in Yekaterinburg at the moment.
