ChelPipe Group to Make More Stainless Pipes for Nuclear Plants

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 8, 2019. ChelPipe Group is working on a large-scale investment project to make stainless steel weld-less pipes for nuclear plant steam generators, the company’s press service reports.

The goal is to launch new production facilities and upgrade the existing ones at ChelPipe Group’s Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ); the project requires over RUB 780m in investments.

For one, a new pipe finishing and commissioning line and an automated set of non-destructive testing appliances will get launched at the plant’s Cold-Deformed Pipe Production Unit. Fitted with the equipment supplied by the leading machine-builders, the upgraded unit will start operating in 2021.

‘ChelPipe Group keeps working to make more hi tech produce with high value-added and export potential, which includes pipes for the energy complex facilities in Russia and abroad. The investment project in question will allow the company to expand its output of corrosion-resistant steel pipes for the nuclear power plants (that meet all of the customers’ strict requirements) by as much as 50%,’ says Strategy Director at ChelPipe Group Dmitri Burlay.

Now ChelPipe Group makes a wide range of pipes for the nuclear power facilities in Russia and abroad. The company has supplied pipes to Rostov Nuclear Power Plant, Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant, and Tianwan Nuclear Power Station in China and to Amur Power Plant, Primorskaya Power Plant, Pregolskaya Power Plant, Kaliningrad Heat & Power Plant, and Long Phu 1 Power Plant in Vietnam.
