EVRAZ Team Wins 18 Medals at WorldSkills Hi Tech 2019

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 6, 2019. EVRAZ Holding’s team won eighteen medals in the national round of WorldSkills Hi Tech 2019, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center reports.

‘EVRAZ NTMK representatives won in two categories.

Alexander Polishchuk and Artem Kartashov from the plant’s IT Directorate won silver in Mechatronics. Polishchuk has taken part in the company rounds of the WS Championship many times before; he also contributed to the plant’s research and tech conferences and won the fourth prize in Glory to The Man of Labor Contest in 2019.

Wiring technician from EVRAZ NTMK’s Heavy-Shape Department Andrei Repyov won bronze in Wiring. This is the first time Repyov has competed in the championship; this year, he has also won the first prize as the Best Young Worker in Profession,’ the company says.

Contestants from EVRAZ Holding’s Siberia-based member enterprises won gold in the WS competition. Repair technician at Evrazruda’s Abagurskaya Plant’s Tech Equipment Repairs Department Evgeny Koretnikov won the first prize in Sheet Metal Treatment. Engineer at the Central Automation & Mechanization Lab Alexander Mazarin won two gold medals in Reverse Engineering.

Silver went to Head of Custom Equipment Bureau Maxim Paramonov in CAD Engineering Design; electrical/gas welder at Metallurgical Equipment Repair Department Nikolai Vyazigin in Welding Technologies; electrical engineer at EVRAZ ZSMK’s Maintenance & Repairs Service Semyon Babushkin in Industrial Automation; and repair technician at EVRAZ ZSMK’s Rail & Beam Department Ilya Zakharov and Senior Electrical Engineer at EVRAZ ZSMK’s Central Lab Vladimir Motin in Mobile Robotics. Technician from EVRAZ ZSMK’s Central Lab’s Chemical Spectrographic Analysis Section Polina Gergel won bronze in Lab Chemical Testing.

Additionally, contestants in the 50+ age group from EVRAZ ZSMK have competed in the championship for the first time ever.

EVRAZ team’s juniors in the under-18 age group won a range of silver medals in the competition as well.
