MMK Launches Oracle R12-Based Information System

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 25, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) completed the first stage of a large-scale program to introduce a single Oracle R12-based information system within the company, MMK’s Information & PR Department reports.

The corporate information system (CIS) is now at work at MMK Group’s repair and maintenance unit MMK United Service Company and the leading Russian metal goods manufacturer MMK METIZ. The two companies started benefiting from the increased production process transparency and improved decision-making opportunities within the very first months of the launch.

According to MMK’s Director for Economics Andrey Eremin, the goal is to create a single information platform for all of MMK Group’s key organizations, to introduce the world’s best business practices, and to lay the foundation for the strategic initiatives of the company’s Industry 4.0 Project.

The second implementation stage began on October 1; the new version of Oracle R12-based CIS will get launched at MMK Group’s machine-building division Mekhanoremontny Complex and the Group’s plant in Lysva that specializes in rolled metal goods with various coatings.

According to MMK’s Information & PR Department, the new system will help unify all the business-related activity within the Group and to make it more efficient as well as more transparent.
