UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 22, 2019. EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Coal Company’s new solution for the innovative hi tech process simulation of mine water filtering (combined with a virtual tour of the filtering facilities) won the grand prize as Best Exhibit at the 3d Siberian Environmental Forum.

According to the company’s PR Department, VR technology is used to enable an ‘inspection’ of the filtering facilities at Uskovskaya Mine, and a mock-up made of environmentally friendly materials that demonstrates the stages of water filtering plus a 3D simulation on a touchscreen are used for the virtual tour of Raspadskaya Mine.

‘This innovative learning aid designed by the experts from the plant’s Environmental Protection Department, Personnel Training Center, and IT Directorate attracted quite a few visitors to Raspadskaya Coal Company’s stand, schoolchildren and college students among others. The visitors could take a virtual tour of our filtering facilities, take a look at how modern technologies work, and have their questions answered by Raspadskaya Coal Company’s environmental experts,’ the company says.

This is the third time Raspadskaya Coal Company has taken part in this Siberian Environmental Forum. Putting several exhibits into a single VR-based solution has made it possible to deliver the information on the company’s filtering facilities in engaging and understandable terms and to provide visitors to the stand with highly immersive experience.
