14 October 2019 (09:12)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 14, 2019. A public discussion on ChelPipe Group’s multi-faceted urban improvement plan took place at Innovative Culture Center in Pervouralsk today; the local opinion leaders (members of the business community, NGO representatives, culture experts, and media reporters) took part in the event.
Experts from Moscow-based Urban Analytics Center made a presentation on the multi-aspect urban improvement program for Pervouralsk that was developed at ChelPipe Group’s initiative.
‘The town residents are eager for further growth. They need new experiences, new kind of environment, and a variety of services, namely, the services they currently have to go to Yekaterinburg to get. All this variety can be brought to Pervouralsk as well. We’ve looked into quite a few layers of data, including land use planning and transport infrastructure papers, and checked all the bottlenecks. We’ve also looked into the environmental parameters and did a research on the socioeconomic strata. We’ve made a list of all the primary advantages and challenges the town has,’ says Urban Analytics Center’s Anna Nosova.
During the public discussion, all the experts got streamlined into four different groups; each group had to make a list of Pervouralsk’s pluses and minuses in the following fields: urban environment; liveability; culture policy; the town’s image; and youth infrastructure.
Now ChelPipe Group proposed a large-scale urban development program in the form of a public-private partnership. In June 2019, ChelPipe Group, Sverdlovsk Region Government, Pervouralsk Council, and Urban Analytics Center signed an agreement to develop and implement an urban improvement program. The Group invested over RUB 70m in the project.
