MMK Holds Job Skills Contest

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 3, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) is currently coordinating Best Young Worker Contest, the company’s Information & PR Department reports.
‘This traditional contest aims to enhance the prestige of blue-collar jobs and help contestants improve their professionals skills and is open to MMK Group’s young workers in the under-30 age group who have at least one year’s work experience with the company,’ the Department says.
There are two rounds to the competition: the first, selective round will take place at the plant’s various production departments and the second, final one will gather together contestants from the entire plant.
The coordination committee is chaired by Head of Science & Tech Center Andrei Kartunov and comprises heads of production departments, HR representatives, members of blue-collar worker groups, members of the Young Metallurgists’ Union, and members of the plant’s trade union committee.
Winners will receive certificates and money prizes. There will also be some prizes for the contest coordinators and the winning contestants’ mentors.
The contest took off on October 1. The young workers from the Group’s ore mining and processing facilities were the first to join in.
