Metallurg Foundation Directs RUB 1bn to Charity

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, September 2, 2019. Metallurg Charity Foundation coordinated its usual series of 2018 performance report meetings for Magnitogorsk locals; one of the meetings took place at S.Ordzhonikidze Metallurgists’ Culture Palace in District Ordzhonikidzevsky’s Right Bank on August 29.
According to MMK Group’s press service, MMK Director-General and member of the foundation’s board of trustees Pavel Shilyayev and State Duma deputy and member of the board of trustees Vitaly Bakhmetyev attended the meeting as guests of honor.
‘The foundation was set up thirty years ago last year. Throughout all these years, Metallurg focused on social support programs for the elderly, people with disabilities, low-income groups, families with three or more children, families with special-needs children, and so on. These are both people living in Magnitogorsk and those living in the nearby villages,’ the Group’s press service says.
According to Metallurg Charity Foundation’s Director Valentin Vladimirtsev, they receive donations and funding from thirty industrial enterprises and organizations based in Magnitogorsk and Chelyabinsk Region; Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) is their largest benefactor.
MMK Group directs more than RUB 2bn to charity and social welfare programs every year; the company allocated RUB 1.5bn for these purposes in the last eighteen months.
