UrBC, Magnitogorsk, August 29, 2019. Magnitogorsk-based Metallurg Charity Foundation recently held a meeting on the upcoming Knowledge Day celebrations. The meeting was attended by heads of special-needs schools in Magnitogorsk and the nearby villages, the Information & PR Department at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) reports.
More than RUB 157m got allocated for the comprehensive children’s support program (of which Knowledge Day events and activities are part of) in the first seven months of 2019. The program centers on supporting the social infrastructure facilities in the area that cater to children’s pastime options; supporting families with three or more children; and supporting the local state-run day schools and boarding schools for special-needs children and children’s clinics in Magnitogorsk and the nearby villages.
To celebrate Knowledge Day, one event for children with disabilities has already taken place at CosmoLand Children’s Entertainment Center, with special gifts for the young school-starters. A trip to the countryside in Abzakovo, Chelyabinsk Region, was organized for sixteen families with special-needs children (including a visit to the zoo, a water park, and Husky Town). Ten families who’ve lost their primary breadwinners were able to visit Arkaim Culture Preserve. More than 240 people from 66 families with three or more children went to see a circus performance.
