23 August 2019 (09:22)
UrBC, Chelyabinsk, August 23, 2019. A solemn time capsule-laying ceremony took place on the construction site of Vysota Ice Academy in Ozersk, Chelyabinsk Region, ChelPipe Group’s press service reports.
Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler, ChelPipe Chair of the BOD Andrei Komarov, Mayor of Ozersk Evgeny Scherbakov, and Rosatom Corporation’s representatives all attended the event.
Vysota Ice Academy, a public-private partnership project, is a multifunctional sports facility (total area: 10,000 m2) that will get commissioned in Ozersk in March 2021. The name stems from the White-Coated Metallurgy’s flagship industrial facility Vysota 239. The project requires RUB 500m in investments, of which RUB 150m will get supplied by ChelPipe Group.
‘Supporting sports and creating an urban environment suitable for a healthy lifestyle is an important part of the Group’s corporate social responsibility and charity programs. It’s high time Ozersk got its own modern sports facility, and we’re making a big step towards making the dream of my native town’s residents come true. I’m sure Vysota Ice Academy will gather together Ozersk locals of all ages and will provide great opportunities for both sports and leisure activities,’ says ChelPipe Chair of the BOD Andrei Komarov.
‘Hockey and ice skating are very popular sports in Chelyabinsk Region, so the construction of a new sports facility is a significant event. Quite a few Ozersk residents would like to do sports, so the new ice academy will definitely make it possible for them and will take the sports achievements Ozersk is so proud of to completely new heights,’ says Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler.
